Trailer Touchdown: Bone-chilling horror plays hide and seek with your mind in ZEE5 Tamil's upcoming Kannamoochi

In a bid to expand its slate to include web series of diverse genres and ilk, ZEE5 Tamil is now coming up with a horror series, titled, Kannamoochi.

The horror series will premiere on ZEE5 Tamil on the most apt date - Friday the thirteenth, of March. Chew that! The streaming platform shared the official trailer of the upcoming show, and we found it to be spooky and spine-chilling.

The narrative revolves around a young hearing-impaired girl Aishwarya, who moves into a new home with her mother. Soon enough, the girl goes missing, after which her mother learns about a terrible incident that had occurred in the home they'd just moved into. The evocative visuals in the trailer leave no doubt that there is a paranormal, ghostly presence behind the disappearance of the girl. Demonic entities, blood and gore, and jump scares, all add to the tautly-strung feel of the trailer.

There are several scenes in the trailer where swirling waters and drowning people are shown, one of whom is Aishwarya's mother, with her hands and feet tied. In another, a man puts on a mask over his face, in an apparent suicide bid. The quick shots point towards a possession drama, where the spirit possesses a body and makes it do its bidding. We wonder if the young girl is the one to be possessed by the ghost.

Kannamoochi translates to hide and seek in English, that kiddy game we've all played in our childhoods. But perceived in context to ZEE5 Tamil's series, it takes on sinister connotations - the dead playing hide and seeks with the living - a game in which the girl is an unwilling pawn.

Kannamoochi stars Poorna in the lead role of Aishwarya's mother. The actress makes her digital debut with this one. Vivek, Prasanna, Aaradhya and Amzath Khan make up the rest of the cast.

The series will premiere on ZEE5 Tamil on 13th March 2020.
