Trailer Touchdown: Books of Blood

A series of short stories brought together in the Books of Blood collection by Clive Barker has served as inspirations for iconic horror movies of the past like Dread and Candyman. Now, Hulu is presenting a brand new adaptation for the anthology in the form of a stand-alone film.
Earlier planned as a series, Books of Blood is about a psychic researcher who has a strange and eerie subject, one who can summon up tales of terror… including messages from the dead. Well, that’s what the slow burn trailer signifies and reportedly, the rest of the film is quite inventive and fresh.
Books of Blood stars Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron, Anna Friel, Yul Vazquez, and Freda Foh Shen, and is directed by Brannon Braga. Braga also executive produces along with Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Brian Witten, Jeff Kwatinetz, Josh Barry, Clive Barker, and Adam Simon. The film is co-executive produced by Mark Miller and produced by Jason Clark and Joe Micucci. The film comes from Touchstone Television and Fuzzy Door, headed by MacFarlane and Huggins.
From what we hear, not a lot of elements from the stories are completely integrated into the movie so let’s just say… the trailer does a good job in both intriguing and misleading. To find out what it has in store, wait until October 7, when Books of Blood premieres on Hulu!
