Maniyarayile Ashokan which is procured by Netflix from Dulquer Salmaan docked a trailer to Youtube earlier today. The best part is besides co-producing the film, he will also be seen in a cameo as a navy officer.
The Rom-Com that orbits around a man’s fight to get hitched appears to be a remark on society’s wedding centric prototypes and also its obsession with pale skin colour. “He is neither tall nor fair and he has no good looks. I don’t like this proposal, so don’t push me,” tells a girl, while denying the protagonist, performed by Gregory. The Mollywood film looks like a film which would carry the pitiless reality of the arranged wedding culture that scales massively on the chaps. DQ also has brought in a unique flavour by doing a good looking Navy officer. So, when this conventional method disappoints, the actor attempts to discover a fortune in meeting his lady love naturally.
The film also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Shine Tom Chacko, Krishna Sankar in important roles and the film is bankrolled jointly by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films and Jacob Gregory. The film is directed by Shamzu Zayba whereas the screenplay is written by Vineeth Krishnan and story by Magesh Boji. It is also to be noted that the film which was scheduled for a theatrical release was postponed due to the Pandemic and will now start streaming on Netflix from August 31.
