Even as we get deeper and deeper into the year, one thing that isn't slowing down is Netflix's continuously exciting list of additions, which includes a big number of original films. Though it all began with the biggie Extraction, a lot of good films have been in the pipeline since, with the odd misfires too. Next in the list, is the Sofia Carson starrer Feel the Best, which feels like a throwback to the Step Up series, but from a different angle.
Sofia Carson plays April, an aspiring Broadway dancer who doesn't find much success in her career and is drawn by her dad to the countryside where she runs into a lot of new, peculiar people. However, things aren't smooth there as she is reluctantly recruited to train a group of underperforming kids for a grand competition.
Feel the Beat does feel like a quintessential dance drama, but it looks like there is going to be more comedy than usual in this fare. With funny characters all around, this looks like a fairly fun film which can be enjoyed with the entire family. Directed by Elissa Down, the film also stars Wolfgang Novogratz and Donna Lynne Champlin.
Netflix drops the film on the 19th of June, so if you have kids at home, give them a heads up and give it a shot together.
