In an age of majestic superhero's churned out of big-budget computer graphics teams, perhaps what the world needs right now is someone little and that comes in the form of Ulysses. Not to be confused by the Greek hero, although perhaps that is the namesake of the squirrel whose human, Flora, is something of a misanthrope and a bookworm. One day, to Flora's pleasant surprise and her mother's horror, they find out that Ulysses has developed superpowers but all superheroes come with the added baggage of arch enemies and his enemy seems to be an animal control specialist who is his nemesis. In between chases, fights, unbelievable leaps from tables, and catching falling boys from attics, this simple story of a girl and her squirrel may not be so simple after all.
Directed by Lena Khan and based on author Kate DiCamillo's celebrated illustrated novel of the same name, the film stars Matilda Lawler, Ben Schwartz, Alysson Hannigan, Dani Pudi, Kate Micucci, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth among others. The film is set to be released on 19 February 2021 on Disney+.
