Vivian, a teenage girl, gets by her days in a high school in Texas, being away from the limelight. The school has a worrying reputation of sexual harassment perpetuated by male students. Vivian generally tries to stay out of any controversy, but a chance encounter with her mother’s past makes her understand she cannot be a bystander anymore. She anonymously launches a magazine, Moxie, that calls out these incidents of harassment. The magazine sparks off a feminist movement in the high school, but can Vivian and her band of friends avoid a showdown with school officials?
Based on Jennifer Mathieu’s bestselling novel, and directed by Amy Poehler, Moxie stars Hadley Robinson, Lauren Tsai, Alycia Pascual-Pena, Nico Hiraga, Sabrina Haskett, Amy Poehler, Josephine Langford, Marcia Gay Harden, Ike Barinholtz and others. Moxie releases on Netflix on March 3, 2021.
