Netflix is literally on fire dropping new trailers left, right and centre. Stateless is a new limited series which was initially aired on ABC on March 1st, 2020. The series is partially inspired by the real-life story of Cornelia Rau, an Australian permanent resident who was unlawfully detained under the Australian Government’s mandatory detention program. The series centres on four strangers from different parts of the world and walks of life cross path at an immigration centre in the Australian desert. When their lives get intertwined they’re pushed to the brink of sanity, and profound connections are made amongst the group.
The trailer gives out enough for us to eagerly wait for its release. Netflix is going to be releasing this series globally. Stateless had its world premiere at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, under the new series section.
Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett has co-created the series along with Tony Ayres and Elise McCredie, Cate is also the Exec. Producer of the series. The series is written by Elise McCredie and Belinda Chayko and is directed by Emma Freeman and Jocelyn Moorhouse.
The month of July 2020 already looks packed with interesting titles lined up for release in the coming weeks. Stateless will be streaming on Netflix from July 8th, 2020.
