Gayathri established her vocation as a heroine in the 2002 film Charlie Chaplin and after a career interim, she began working as a choreographer in films like Madrasapattinam, Osthe and Anjaan.
On 2012, she announced her intentions of directing a film called Yaadhumagi Nindraai Even after her announcement, the film did not take off for a long time and she continued acting in films like Vai Raja Vai. She also got viral in the State by taking part in the first season of Endemol's Reality Show - Bigg Boss.
Now, finally, after an 8-year gap, the twinkler has sold her 2017 film to Zee's Streaming platform - Zee5. Zee5 has released the trailer of the Direct OTT film and have announced through the trailer that the film will premiere from June 19.
The trailer reveals that the lead, Thamarai (Gayathri) is an aspiring dancer and after she misses to become a background cine ballerina due to a casting controversy, she goes on to become a hoofer at a club in Dubai. It also looks like the story would be dealing with an unforeseen conflict which will overpower Thamarai to struggle back. Though the narrative is clear and conventional through the trailer, we will have to sit and wait until 19th to know whether Thamarai will fight back and win to become a dancer.
We know it a conventionalised film and Thamarai is going to win it over, but if the film is stitched with the right flavours of emotion it could definitely become an engaging OTT blockbuster! We will have to wait to know how it is sutured.
It is also to be noted that Nivas Adithan has played an important role and Vishnu Rangasamy has taken care of the Lens Department. Ashwin Vinayagamurthy's songs have already docked the audio streaming applications. Jayam Ravi, Soundarya Rajinikanth and AL Vijay launched the audio of the songs.
