Unsolved Mysteries Netflix Season 2 Review

Engrossing, even if not equally good as the first season!

Unsolved Mysteries Netflix Season 2 Review

Season 2 of Unsolved Mysteries is now streaming on Netflix, with six episodes in this instalment.

What is the story about?

Unsolved Mysteries continues on the same note of the first season, with six more mysteries being brought to the fore. The series brings us more cases which are not solved, and tackles the scene with some really good investigative procedures and found footage stories.

Analysis

Unsolved Mysteries does have a lot of things going for it, as we are led to the bottom line of the mystery very early and then start looking at the various factors around it that affect it from top to toe. There are lots of interesting reveals and CCTV footage that prove the truths, even though it is not easy to pack in our minds at one place due to the light feeling of some of the episodes. However, the series does deliver more hits than misses in totality and has enough in it to hold our attention. The makers should just be wary of the fact that they hold on to better stories in the future, as to not let the weightage of the series die down in the successive seasons.

Highlights

In a series that blows hot and cold, the first and the last episodes take the cake. The way the White House murder is explained to the audiences, along with the chills that the parents might have undergone in the final episode’s case make it very intriguing and hand the series a solid start and end. However, the rest of the series isn’t as perfect as it should be, and only banks on the power of the stories and not the ways in which they are narrated.

Drawbacks

This is surely not a series which should be binge-watched. Instead, it is better to take it one at a time and aid the process which would help viewers relate to the cases more. Those who take the option of binge-watching it would get bored after a few episodes.

Did I enjoy it?

I wanted some of the episodes to punch higher in weight, but otherwise, it was a good show.

Do I recommend it?

Yes, Unsolved Mysteries’ second season may not have created the buzz of the first but it tackles its strengths well and plays to it.
