Production House: HOICHOI
Cast: Shaheb Bhattacharjee, Soumendra Bhattacharya, Poulami Das, Chandan Sen, Saswati Guha Thakurata
Producers: Sera Bannerjee, Aishwarya Dasgupta, Dabashree Dutta
Story: The Hoichoi original film is based on a filmmaker’s war with his memories, obsessions and emotions.
Direction: Raja Ghosh
Artistes’ Performances: It tells the love story of a filmmaker and a girl he once met in his life. None of them seem to be very convincing in their performance.
Music: Subrata Pramanik
Highlights: It wasn’t like director Raja Ghosh didn’t have the right story in mind, rather it seemed as if he lacked technical training that could have had helped him narrate the story in a better manner. It journeys the emotions of a filmmaker with his past lover, but everything about the film seemed like taken from a few WhatsApp forward stories of love, and relationships.
Drawback: The concept of ‘slow and steady’ may not always be applicable in every aspect of film making, and even if a film runs slow, there must steadiness in it too. One can’t just run a movie without a proper background, clarity and all timelines get a little haphazard.
Analysis: ‘Uraan’, on the first look of the name felt as if it would draw a bit of inspiration from the original Vikramaditya Motwane film ‘Udaan’. However, this movie has a lot to work on to gain more publicity in its online platform.
Rating: 1/5
