Warrior Nun, the most-anticipated comic adaption to land on Netflix this July!

Comic-book adaptations are becoming a thing of late not only with films but with the series too. And Netflix is not new to this genre; they have a few to their credit, The Umbrella Academy, Millarworld Universe (TBA), and the recently released The Last Days of American Crime.

Warrior Nun is a series based on the comic-book series named “Warrior Nun Areala” which was released in 1994. And Netflix announced the series way back in September 2018. As far as the plot is concerned the synopsis states, “After waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo-Bearer for a secret sect of demon hunting nuns.”

The series is created by Canadian screenwriter and producer Simon Barry. David Hayter (X-Men Universe, Watchmen) will be the screenwriter of Warrior Nun. Another interesting aspect of this show would be the company that aided the Game of Thrones is actively involved in the project. The cast includes Toya Turner as Shotgun Mary, Alba Baptista as Ava, Thekla Reuten as Jillian Salvius, Sylvia De Fanti as Mother Superion, and May Simón Lifschitz as Chanel.

The series will spread across 10 episodes and the episodes will have the bible verse reference for each. The series is set to stream on Netflix, globally on July 2nd, 2020.
